Special Commemoration service at Bishop’s House, Jaffna for Easter Sunday Bombing
A special commemoration service was held at the Bishop House of Jaffna yesterday in remembrance of the victims of the Easter Sunday Bombing last year.
This commemoration mass was said led by the Vicar General, Rev.Fr. P.J.Jebaratnam at around 8.45 a.m.
The leader of Global Tamil Forum , Rev. Fr.Emmanuel also participated in this service.
Prayers were offered for eternal rest of the victims and speedy release from Corona menace.
Commemoration events for the remembrance of the Easter Sunday victims all over Sri Lanka.
As per the request of Cardinal Malcom Rangit, bells were peeled in remembrance at churches and temples in the hill country and memorial services held. Special “Thu aa” prayers were held at many Muslim mosques there.
The memorial events were held widespread in all five districts of Northern Province.
Events were held at Vavuniya Kudiyiruppu Sithyvinayagar Temmple under aegis of Thamizh Virudcham Organization, Vavuniya Kurumankadu Pillaiyar temple under the aegis of Vavuniya District Hindu Priests’ Association, and special Thu Aa prayers were held at Vavuniya townmosque, Mannar Moor street Jummah Mosque, and Mahoop Mahpoop Suphany Mosque at Mulaitheevu as per request of the Ministry of Muslim Affairs.
Special poojas were offered at the famous Vattapallai Kannakai Amman Temple, for the victims of the Easter Bombing.
