Napthaly  Joison wins Gold with a Record and Colours certificate in Polevault

Napthaly  Joison of the Arunothaya College, Alaveddy , competing in the under 19 PoleVault event polevaulted to a height of 4.61 M to beat the record established last year by Mahajana College’s S.Diluxan polevaulting to a height of 4.42M, to clinch the Gold and a Colours certificate in the event.

This record was broken on the last day, yesterday of The National School Track & Field Sports Meet  held at Bogambara Grounds in Kandy.

Mahajana’s  S.Diluxan cleared a height of 4.30M to win the Silver and colours certificate.

M.Thanis , representing Arunothaya College cleared 4M to be placed 4th in the same event.

Nagarasa Rishanthiny of Vavuniya, Kanakarayankulam MV threw the put-shot in the under 21 event to win a Silver.  Incidently this is the first ever medal won in the history of Kanagarayankulam MV.

S.Vithusa, representing Katchchilaimadhu GTM School was placed 6th in the under 19, 5,000M  event

Mullaitheevu Bharathy Vidyalayam was placed 7th in the under 21 4x400M Relay.

Balendran Vaseeharan was selected to compete in the National Kata Competion in the under 7 age group and Murali Parithiyan had been selected to compete in the National Kata Competion in the under 8 age group
