Two Sri Lankan fishermen Rubadas (21) and Nishanthan (23) of Sri Lanka, who had drifted to Indian waters in October, were repatriated on Tuesday. According to Coast Guard sources, the fishermen who ventured into sea from Point Pedro had drifted towards Kodiyakarai near Vedaranyam on October 11.
The fishermen of Kodiyakarai had rescued them and alerted the police. The Marine Police in Vedaranyam registered a case. The fishermen who were lodged in Central Prison in Puzhal, were sent back from Karaikal on Tuesday.
