St.Hentry’s capture National Title in Foot Ball
The National Championship, conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Football Federation was won by the St. Hentry’s , Ilavalai, in the under 16 years age Group.
In the Final match conducted at the Kinniya in Trincomalee yesterday evening.
Colombo Zahira College competed against the St.Hentry’s College, ilavalai.
1st and the 2nd halves came to an end in goal less draw. In the tie-breaker, St Hentry’s won by 6:5.
As far as the National level Foot tournaments are concerned the Northern Province Schools are continuing to maintain their dominancy.
It is notable that, the under 17 foot ball, all three places were won by Northern Schools with Jaffna’s St.Patrick’s won the Gold, Ilavalai’s St.Henry’s won the Silver with the Bronze being won by Mannar’s St. Xaviers.
