Jaffna St. John’s College has held Jaffna Central to only 164 all out in its first innings of the second day of their 109th “ Battle of the North” at the Jaffna Central College Grounds today.
St. Johns batted first in the match commenced yesterday declared its first innings at 300 for 7, and Jaffna Central were 9 runs without any loss.
Jaffna Central resumed batting today with the hope of batting to a respectable total. However, they lost wickets quickly and all out for 164 soon after the lunch break. At the end of second innings St. Johns scored 103 runs with the loss of 6 wickets.
Tomorrow is the 3rd and final day of the match.
Old boys of the both schools across the world have travelled to Jaffna to support their team.
