Students of Kokkuvil Hindu win in International Chess tournament
Three students of Kokkuvil Hindu travelled to Nepal to Participate in the Katmandu Open International GM Chess Tournament.
Jude Dorrison, Ajithkumar and Sivathanujan who had travelled abroad for an International level Tournament were pitted against competitors from countries such as India and Nepal. The tournament was concluded on the 17th.
S.Sivathanujan and Jude Dorrison had won on the basis of their rating. They were honoured with medals and Monetary gifts.
Weight Lifter Aasika secure a place in the Sri Lanka team for Weight lifting contest in Uzbekistan
Jaffna’s champion WeightLifter Aasika has flown to Uzbekistan as a member of the Sri Lankan team to participate in the Asian Youth WeightLifting Championship to be held in Uzbekistan from today to 30th.
It is notable that who are placed within the first six places will qualify for the Youth Olympics.
