We studying about parallel devolution of power between Centre and Provinces, say Ranil

Prime Minister Ranil announced yesterday in Jaffna, that they are studying about parallel devolution of power between Centre and Provinces.

He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the new building complex in the District Secretariat, Jaffna.

J.R.Jayawardene introduced the 13th amendment amidst much struggle. It could not be implemented fully.  We expected that Mahindha will propose a solution based on 13th. But Mahindha said that he will go beyond 13th. But nothing happened.

We are dedicated to working with the President to solve the problems faced by the Jaffna Tamil and Muslim people. We are trying to reach a consensus acceptable to all people. We are intending to release prisoners without basis criminal charges. We have established a Commission to find out the real situation of the missing people. We have also decided to form a Commission to find the truth. The Tamil people should relieved  of their tribulations and made to live happily, he said

The building opened by the prime Minister had been already opened and operating to date.

Swamynathan, NCP CM, C.V.Wigneswaran , State Minister for Children’s Affairs, Wijekala Maheswaran,MPs, Mawai Senathyrasa, T.Sitharththan, Douglas Devananda, K.Muthan, M.A.Sumanthiran, NPC Leader of the House, C.V.K.Sivagnnam, Jaffna District Secretary, N.Vethanayagan, Members of the NCP, and district Secretariat Officials participated in this event.
