Following the recent formation of the Tamil People’s Council (TPC) an urgent meeting was held between the Leader of TNA, Rasavarothayam Sampanthan and the NCP CM, C.V. Wigneswaran in the residence of TNA stalwart and famous Attorney at Law, Kanageswaran in Issipathana Mawatha, Colombo, yesterday evening.
The talks centred on the issues faced by the TNA. The meeting has taken place in background of Wigeswaran remaining dumb during the election campaign of TNA during the parliamentary poll, his inaugurating the Tamil People’s Council etc.
Although Sampanthan did not meet the media CM met the media and commented on the meeting.
The interests of the Tamil people are important to both of us and we have decided have more meetings like this to discuss several matters, said CM, to the media men.
He further clarified to “ The Tamil Diplomat” correspondent at the end of the meeting, “we talked cordially about several matters. We have to talk more. We will meet again. The interests of Tamil people are important to both of us.”
The meeting was held at the residence of ITAK stalwart Kanakeswaran at Issipathana Road, Babmbalapitiya from 4.30p.m. to 7.30 p.m.Kanakeswaran had facilitated this meeting. The next meeting between CM and Sampanthan also will be facilitated by Kanakeswaran.
