The Supreme Court has dismissed the case filed by former CM, C.V.Wigneswaran against an interim order by Appeal court.
The appeal of Wigneswaran was filed against an interim order by the appeal court, in the case filed by former NPC Minister P.Deneeswaran was dismissed by the Supreme Court yesterday the 8th.
The case was taken up for trial before a panel of supreme Court judges, including, P.Jayawardene, Vijith Malalgoda and Murthu Fernando, which dismissed the case.
Wigneswaaran had filed objections that an appeal court cannot handle matters regarding constitution.
However, the panel has dismissed the case saying that the appeal court has full powers to try such cases.
Presidents Council Kanagaeeswaran appeared for the plaintiff and AAL Suren Fernando appeared on behalf of P. Deneeswaran
It is notable that the contempt of Court case against C.V.Wigneswaran is to be taken up for hearing on the 10th of December.
