If I speak about the problems of the Tamil people, those who are in the South are looking at me like a Tiger. But I will continue my non-violent struggle from the people’s side, said, the former State Minister for Children’s Affairs and MP, Wijekala Maheswaren.
She said so participating in an event held yesterday at Thirunelvely for distributing young plants and Bombay Onions. Minister for Social Welfare and Primary Industries, Daya Gamage was also present in the event.
Speaking further, she said that, there are 15,000 orphans in the North. The previous Government never showed any concern about them. There are more than 90,000 Woman Leadership Families. State lands in the North should be distributed among them and encouraged to undertake Mango cultivation.
When I say about our problem, those in the south look at me as a Tiger. I resigned my ministerial post for the sake of the people.
However much the opposition comes I fight against them to deliver justice to the people. I shall not fear anyone. I shall stay on the side of the people and fight bravely in non-violent ways, she said.
