The Motherland grandly celebrated the 63rd Birthday of Her worthy son, Velupillai Prabaharan , the Leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and widely acknowledged by the Tamils of the world including the Tamil Diaspora, yesterday, after a lapse of 8 years.
It was especially celebrated at Valveddiththurai where the remains of his ancestral house, destroyed by the Army is located, at around midnight yesterday.
Further, the students of the University of Jaffna, celebrated it with large sized photographs exhibited at the venue and the walls of various faculties.
The ancestral house of the Leader is lying in ruins after being destructed by the Army. Trees were planted in the land and the Birth Day celebrated with a Birthday cake bing cut in front of the house accompanied by crackers lighted by the youth of Valveddiththurai.
Then they distributed sweets to people who passed that way.
Photographs of the leader were posted all over Campus premises and the Birthday Celebrated
at a special venue.
