Thousands of Tamils demonstrate in London for expulsion of Sri Lankan Brigadier
Several organisations together staged a protest in London on Friday against, Brigadier Priyanka Fernando , the Defense Attaché of the Sri Lankan High Commission in London, who had allegedly threatened with throat slashing gesture towards the Tamil protesters in front of the Sri Lankan Embassy in during the Independence day celebrations.
The protest march started at the Sri Lankan High Commission. The protesters marched through London, passing Buckingham Palace and Whitehall and gathering outside the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Protesters expressed disappointment over British government’s lack of response to the threat made to UK residents by a high-ranking Sri Lankan military official.
Protesters also burnt the Sri Lankan constitution and ‘interim report’ of recommendations by a parliamentary steering committee.
