The TNA has taken a strong and firm decision that it will not support any Southern Government until solutions are reached for the Aspirations of the Tamil people. A situation has been created in Colombo where, there is a possibility of the coalition Government ending and a single party rule coming in. It widespread expectation are rife that the TNA will join UNP to form the Government at the centre.
In this context, the TNA met and held a discussion at Jaffna yesterday in Jaffna.
ITAK Leader, Mawai Senathyrasa, Treasuer P.Kanagasabapathy,Leader of the TELO Selvam Adaikalanathan, Secretary, Sri Kantha, Leader of the PLOT, T.Sitharthan and member, Ragavan participated in this meeting.
The TNA had taken the following decisions:
- Continue the policy of not joining any southern Government , until such time, solutions for the aspirations of the Tamil people are realized.
- As far as the matters of solutions for Tamil people are concerned to continue pressure and giving crisis to any government coming to power in the south.
- To support any government which will pursue regarding political solution and solutions to day to day problems of the Tamil People.
