The TNA announced that it will vote against Mahindha who has been appointed illegally and and in contravention to the Constitution, in the no-confidence motion against him. Further, keeping a neutral stance amounts to going along with Anarchy and making it to succeed, the TNA had pointed out.
The TNA announced its position in a press report issued in Vavuniya, yesterday. The activities undertaken by Maithri after conclusion of the sitting on the last 26th were discussed in the meeting of the Leaders of the constituent parties held on the 2nd of this month, and the following decisions had been taken, said the report:
- The authority to remove the Prime Minister has been removed by the 19th amendment. Hence the declarations that the Prime Minister has been removed and another person has been appointed in his place are both illegal and contrary to the Constitution.
- Stopping the activities of the Parliament is viewed by the TNA as illegal and that affecting the Supremacy of the Parliament. We condemn the act of delaying the convening the parliament to provide time to buy off MPs, with posts and money improperly to their side. Action will be taken against Viyalenthiran, who has fallen prey to this intrigue.
- The TNA will vote for the No-confidence motion to be brought against the Government led by Mahindha, which has been brought into power, contravening completely and illegally. Keeping a neutral stance will amount to going along with Anarchy and making it to succeed.
