TPC rejects the Interim Report outright

In a statement published by the TPC, it has said that the interim Report of the Guidance Committee for the drafting of the Constitution will not be a solution to the long term struggle of the Tamil People for their Rights. Hence, the TPC is rejecting this Interim Report.

So as to rectify a general accusation by the International Community that, the Tamil faction had not put forward a conclusive solution for the Tamil National problem, the TPC appointed  political Sub-Committee to formulate a draft on the solution for Tamil National Sovereignty  Problem and a final draft was published on 2017 April 10th. The acknowledgement from Tamil people was demonstrated through their mass participation at Ezhuka Thamizh rallies.  This Draft was submitted to International Community.

However the interim Report has out rightly rejected proposals of the TPC on the basic political birth rights of Undivided Tamil Home Land, Right to self determination.  This report has not identified people on the basis of their ethnicity, instead it has addressed all people as Sri Lankans.  This is strengthening the Sinhala – Buddhist dominance concept.

The TPC believes that the basic birth rights of Tamil Nationalism could be obtained only by making a social agreement through a mediation thirty party in a dialogue between Tamils acknowledged as one party and the Government as the 2nd party.
