TPPs’ case – 1 witness agrees to testify at Vavuniya, No reply from 2 witnesses abroad

One witness of the case against three TPPs who engaged in fasting protest demanding their  case be not transferred from Vavuniya court, has consented to testify at the Vavuniya Court.

The writ of appeal filed in Colombo Appeal court against transferring the TPPs case to Anuradhapura was taken up for hearing

The AG Department AAL who was present in the court informed the judge one witness has consented to testify at Vavuniya and that they are unable to contact two witnesses who had gone abroad and that they need two weeks time to contact them.

This case proceeding in Vavuniya was transferred at the final stages to Anuradhapura citing security of the witnesses.

It is notable that, several protest rallies are being held against this transfer in North and East.
