Two Jaffna players named by Cricket Board, in the 35-strong training pool for National Cricket Team

Selvarasa Mathusan and Vijayakanth Vijaskanth have been named by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to train in the Training pool for under 19 National Cricket team.

Both from Jaffna Central College, represented the Northern Province in the Inter Provincial Cricket Championship concluded recently. Selvarasa Mathusan had excelled in both balling and batting and Vijaskanth also had given good performance in that Championship. Considering their skills, the Cricket Board has named them for the 35- strong training pool for selecting under 19 National Cricket team.

The team of 15 players selected from this pool will play against the under 19 Indian Team.

Selvarasa is a right handed Batsman and his speciality lies in his right hand medium speed balling. He captured 6 wickets in the match against North Western Province Team. Vijaskanth is a right handed batsman and a right handed spinner.
