Continuous struggles are being undertaken in the Northern and Eastern Provinces, demanding to find their relatives who had been abducted and forcefully made to disappear during the war period and post war period. It is in this context that the Resident Representative met the relatives of the missing yesterday. This is her second meeting with them.

” When I came here last, ¬†the people were very angry on me. Your tears that day over the UN not intervening in your problem and solve it had made me to come and meet you today. Your struggle is getting ever stronger. I shall talk about this in UN. Before the State leader met you, one of our representative met him discussed about your problem. I shall talk to the UN and make them pressurize the Sti Lankan Government.” , said the Resident Representative to the relatives of Missing persons.
