Unemployed Graduates meet Prime Minister who assured first stage of appointments within 3 weeks

A meeting between the representatives of unemployed graduates who are undertaking a continuous struggle and Prime Minister was held yesterday at Temple Trees on a request of M.A.Sumanthiran. 6 representatives of the Unemployed Graduates along with MPcs, Asmin and Sugirthan met the PM.

The graduates presented problems and situations, and their demands to the Prime Minister. The briefed him as to how they studied under stress during war periods and the difficulties their parents have undergone in educating them and they being forced to work as labourers as they could not find state employment.

During the meeting Sumanthiran told the PM that not only the Northern graduates, but also Eastern graduates are  engaged in struggle and insisted that they are ready to take up Tamil media related appointments elsewhere in the country.

Then Asmin pointed out that a resolution was adopted in the NPC to provide whatever possible Provincial appointments but it needs the assistances of the PM.

In reply the PM said that he is aware of their problems and as a first stage he will arrangements in three weeks to fill the Provincial Department vacancies. He also promised to provide solutions for their problems in accordance with the government procedures.
