The University Student’s Federation refuses to meet CM on Muliwaikkal Commemoration
The President of the Jaffna University Student’s Federation, Krishnemenon said that they have not accepted an invitation from the CM to discuss the arrangements for the May 18th Commemoration at Muliwaikkal.
The CM had announced that the commemoration will be observed under the organization of the NPC and that a preparatory meeting will be held today and invited the Students to participate
However, the Students’ Federation president said that they will not accept the invitation from the CM. He further said that they undertook organization for the commemoration of the Genocide on Tamil people with the cooperation of all factions. But the NPC announced that the Council will organize the Commemoration.
It is acceptable to us in the NPC representing only the Northern people organizing the commemoration which we had planned as a grand pan-NE event.
We will not participate in the event organized by the NPC. We will pursue the holding of another event with the people, he said.
