The Election Manifesto of the UNP made public in Vavuniya said that 1,000 Vihares will be constructed in North and East and Rs. 500 Million has been set aside for this.
The Propaganda meeting of the UNP for the LG election was held yesterday in Vavuniya presided by the Prime Minister Ranil Wigremasinghe.
An Election Manifesto in the name of “A government renovating Villages” was made public in this meeting.
It has been noted under the heading Reconciliation, that Rs.500 Million has been set aside for building 1,000 Vihares in the North and the East.
It is notable that in the context of priority given to Buddhism, the Government decided to construct 1,000 Vihares in North and East.
Prime Minister Ranil, who addressed this meeting said that people lived with fear during Mahindha Regime. To Race and religious unity and good relationship has been created. Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist people are living with unity.
