UVA Province  Chief Minister who made Tamil Principal to apologize kneeling

The Chief Minister of Uva Province, Chamara Sampath Dasanayake was reported to have made the  Principal of a Tamil Medium Girl’s School to kneel down and apologize for not carrying out his order. The Secretary to the Ministry of Education has to take action against the Uva Chief Minister who had engaged in such activity, the CAFFE has demanded.

The Chief Minister of Uva Province, Chamara Sampath Dasanayake who had summoned the Principal of a Tamil Medium Girl’s School in Badulla to his official residence and had made him kneel down and apologize for not carrying out his order.

This punishment had been meted out for not enrolling a student the CM had sent to the said school. The parents of the student had gone to the school with a letter of recommendation of the CM , but the principal had said that enrollment will be only made orders from the Ministry of Education.

Vexed by this refusal the CM had summoned the principal and made him to apologize on his knees, said the Executive Director of CAFFE, Keethy Thennekoone.

Such incidents had occurred during previous regime. But they are being also continued in this regime, although, this regime came to power saying that these kinds of incidents will not happen in their regime, he said.
