The Murder case of Pungudutheevu student, Vidya has reached a conclusive stage. The summaries of the prosecution and defence will be delivered today and tomorrow.It is expected that the judgment will be delivered within the second week of October.
A student from Pungudutheevu was gang raped and murdered mercilessly on 13th May 2015. The hearing of the case is held in Trial at Bar by 3 member panel led by High Court Judge, Balendran Sasimahendran and include High Court judges Annalingam Premasangar and Manickawasagar Ilancheliyan.
Recording of Prosecution witnesses and 9 accused was concluded on 29th August. The tribunal had earlier ordered that the summary shall be submitted today and tomorrow. It is expected that the defense lawyers will point out the shortcomings in the testimonies of the Prosecution witnesses and the Prosecution will point out what connection the accused have with the Gang rape and Murder.
