President Maithripala Sirisena has stated that his government will respond to Sampanthan’s plea to find a solution in a united and undivided island. His plea is of significance.
President Sirisena was addressing a meeting held in Sampoor to hand over deeds to the displaced people. President Sirisena went on that as a government they will undertake the responsibility to resolve the problems of the people in a spirit of good will and brotherhood.
He added that war is detestable. It destroys all human values such as compassion. We are committed through our good governance to ensure that there will not be a climate for violence to erupt. It is our duty to provide a social environment that is conducive for all the citizens to live peacefully realizing their needs.
