Wigneswaran acting in accordance with the agenda of Tigers abroad: says Minister S.P.Dissanayake in Jaffna

Minister of Social Welfare, Good Relationship and Kandyans Legacies, S.B.Dissanayake said in Jaffna that,  Chief Minister Wigneswaran is acting as per the agenda of the Liberation Tigers abroad. He also said that Mahindha Rajapakse will support the Government.

The Internal Day of the Deaf was celebrated yesterday at the Weerasingam Hall, Jaffna, yesterday. At the end of the celebrations, Minister said so answering questions from media.bThe opinions expressed by Wigneswaran resemble those of the migrated Liberation Tigers. He is acting on the agenda of Liberation Tigers.

Earlier the CM had indicated that the 20th  has a nature of taking back powers given to the PCs and all Tamils should oppose it. And he had also requested that the NPC should oppose it.  The NPC also rejected it. later, the Supreme Court also announced that  a Referendum is necessary for the said Act. However the Act was hastely passed with a 2/3 majority.

It is in this context that Minister Dissanayake had said that the CM is acting on the agenda of the Liberation Tigers abroad.

The Minister would say that won’t he of Chief Minister Wigneswaran’s stand when TNA politicians have caved in without firm guarantees or no real Southern consensus. An island wide referendum would end in rejection of any attempt to grant ‘maximum devolution’ to the Tamils (we don’t know what that is when actual division of powers haven’t been divulged). In my view such a referendum is akin to suicide because it will seal our fate for good! In my view Sampanthan has sold out lock stock and barrel to Srilanka: On the 21st of September 2017, in parliament Sampanthan said this: “Srilanka would perpetually be a united undivided and indivisible country in keeping with the basic and Supreme Law of the country, and on the basis of the free will and consent of all its people.”
I hate to hear him repeat over and over again like a mantra his favourite phrase, “united undivided and indivisible,” today he added “perpetually” to it.
And what was worse he said this:
    – “ON THE BASIS OF THE FREE WILL AND CONSENT OF ALL ITS PEOPLE”
In my opinion, that’s not true. Tamils have neither freely willed nor consented to Srilanka being a united undivided and indivisible country in perpetuity!
Who gave him the mandate to say this? Definitely not the people he represents!
Also the problem about giving Buddhism foremost place won’t be an issue if there’s no bigotry on the part of the Sinhalese and they refrain from erecting Buddha statues everywhere – but on the contrary sadly that’s what’s going to happen in a large scale in the NorthEast!
The timing of the release of the interim report to coincide with the UN General Assembly and the 36th UNHRC sessions was intentional and designed to impress the International community and the OHCHR while president Sirisena was in Geneva! This is all a drama for the benefit of the international community. Sadly it seems TNA is unwittingly collaborating with the government. Tamils have taken this route before only to be disappointed and betrayed.

C v. Vigneswaran reflects the anxiety of Tamils in general. Sinhalese leaders want to use the ethnic issue just to win elections and not to do justice or prevent future uprisings.
