Arrest of TN fishermen; Jaya appeals to Modi for their release

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate steps to ensure the release of Indian fishermen in the jails of Sri Lanka.

In a letter addressed to Modi she stated that the frequent arrest of Tamil Nadu fishermen has been a source of agitation in Rameswaram. Such arrests affect the livelihood of the fishermen. The Center must find a lasting solution.
