Indian Ambassador goes without meeting fasting people in Jaffna

Concerns have been expressed that the Indian High Commissioner, who is visiting Jaffna, did not meet the hunger strikers in Jaffna to refer Sri Lanka to the International Criminal Court.

The rotary hunger strike by university students and civil society continues today for the 13th day.

In this context, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Gopal Bagle, who is on a  visit to Jaffna, had paid a courtesy call on  Head of Nallai Adheenam Sri La Sri Somasunthara Gnanasampantha Paramachariya Swamigal. On the way back from the meeting, the Indian High Commissioner went without meeting the protesters despite chanting slogans.
