Rally in Jaffna demanding to refer Sri Lanka to the International Criminal Court
A rally was held in Jaffna today demanding that Sri Lanka be referred to the International Criminal Court.
The rally was organized by the relatives of disappeared persons in the North and East. The rally started from Nallur Sankiliyan Park and proceeded to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner in Jaffna.
A report was submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council through the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, students of the North and Eastern Universities, who started a hunger strike struggle yesterday in Nallur, Jaffna, demanding that Sri Lanka be referred to the International Criminal Court , are continuing their struggle for the second day today. Many members of the public and civil society have joined the struggle.
