The heart breaking day when Disaster descended on Tamil Nation at Mullivaikkal

Hundreds of thousands Tamil people were mercilessly killed at Mulliwaikkal, 7 years ago from today. This is a day which had given heart full of cruel pains to Tamils living all over the globe, from which they are unable to recover. This is the day when our relatives were killed right in front of our own eyes. This is the day of mourning of the total Tamil nation.

This day on which the worst genocide was unleashed against Tamil people, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of them. Public Organisations and Tamil political parties  had for the day to be observed as a black day and the dead commemorated by lighting  sacrificial flames.

The main event was held at around 9.00 a.m. near Mulliwaikkal Maha Vidyalaya this today.

The dead bodies told no tales

some were rotting under and inside vehicle

some went into shallow graves

scooped by bare hands on the beach,

still more were just abandoned

some were burning, some were floating

some with no limbs and some with slashed  stomches

Mass graves also took their shares

mothers carrying their babies

not feeling they are dead

babies sucking from their dead mothers

the living dead moving into barbed wire fences

Acrid smoke seeping through the silent palmyrahs

with the Lord of the death dancing all around

and ‘eyes’ in the sky watching with glee.

That is Mulliwaikkal on that May eighteenth.
