Thousands of people participate in the “ London Tamil Market 2016”
Introduced for the first time successfully last year, the “London Tamil Market 2016” of the London Tamil Chamber of Commerce, had been held this year too, and concluded with a resounding success.
Thousands of people thronged to the Harrow Leisure Centre to witness this crowning event on 9-10 April 2016.
The Chief Minister of Northern Province, C.V. Wigneswaran, speaking on the first of this event, through Video message, insisted the necessity of the institutionally organized implementation of the Commercial and trade activities of the Tamil people living all over the world, and said that they could assist the prosperity of the people of their motherland in a grand way.
“We would have flown towards victory long ago, like a Phoenix rising from its ashes, if all the commercial and trade activities of the Tamil people all over the world had been brought into a structured form and transformed into helping hands for their kith and kin in their motherland who had been devastated by the merciless war “ Wigneswaran said.
This fair was inaugurated by the Mayor of London Harrow, Suresh Krishna and several members of the Parliament had spoken in this event.
Commenting on the event, the President of the British Tamil Chamber of Commerce, M. Thiruvasagam said that, as expected the event was concluded on a successful note and that they are anticipating to hold this on much larger scale with new dimensions added.
Thanking all the establishment which provided their graceful sponsorship, for this year’s event, he said that the chamber is expecting same kind of cooperation from these establishments in undertaking project in Britain and at the homeland.
“Media support provided by IBC Tamil and other media establishments was great. Food provided by Ruby catering was tasty value for money and satisfied all the senses of everyone. Entertainment by Raagas along with popular playback singer from Chennai Hariharasudan was mesmerising. Other shows like Fashion show, dramas and dance etc. were enjoyed by all. The feedback from all the exhibitors and visitors was really very satisfying to the organisers.
Finally the message is loud and clear, the Tamil Business community has arrived and a thriving force to recon with forging ahead faster and faster providing employment training and education wealth creation and much more. This exhibition known as LONDON TAMIL MARKET 2016 is a celebration of Tamil businesses, so that the business owners get encouraged and motivated to drive towards bigger and better goals.” Thiruvasagam said.
More than 150 Tamil businesses and community organisations participated in this event and displayed their products and services. Artist from not only Europe, but also from India graced the occasion.
More than 6,000 Tamil people came to witness this event from several parts of Britain.
