Three farmers killed in a lightning strike in Mullaithivu

Three farmers were killed in a lightning strike in Thannimurippu area in Mullaitivu district on Thursday evening.

Heavy rain and lightning struck Mullaitivu and several places in the North and East yesterday. Three farmers who were engaged in agricultural activities in Thannimurippu have died due to thestrike of lightning.

The deceased have been identified as Ganapathipillai Mayuran, 35, of Kumulamunai West, Suvarnan, 34, of Kumulamunai Central and Sujeevan, 46, of Varappalai.
