32nd Annual commemoration of ‘Thiyagatheepam Thileepan” commence today at Nallur
All events of 32 Annual Commemoration week of ‘ Thiyagatheepam Thileepan ‘ will be held under the aegis of Jaffna Municipal Council.
Thus, the first day’s events will be held today 15th Sunday at 9.30 a.m., the time at which ‘ Thiyagatheepam Thileepan ‘ started his fast unto death against IPKF, at his memorial located at Nallur. Those who wish to pay homage to ‘ Thiyagatheepam Thileepan ‘ are requested to assemble at the memorial at 9.00 a.m.
The Father of a Maveerar will light the main Sacrificial Flame and following him the others will pay their tributes and homage.
The Mayor of Jaffna, E.
