20 acre lands of people handed over to them in Vali North

An event for handing over 20 acre lands of people to them by the Army was held at Jaffna/Thellipallai Divisional Secretariat yesterday presided by the Thellipallai Divisional Secretary,Sivasiri.

The Commander, SF – Jaffna, Major General Tharsana Hettiarachchi handed over relevant documents for handing over the lands to the Jaffna District Secretary, N.Vethanayagan.

In a context where, it had been announced that after the 30 years war, no more lands will be released in Vali North and other areas, lands located in 3 Grama Officers’ division including Palaly North and Myliddy pier.

Thus, a total of 19.7 acre land had been released including 1 acre and kulies 120 in J/253 – Palaly East GO Division in Vali North, 3 acre in J/251 and 13 acre and Kulies 155.6 and the path thereof.

Although it was announced earlier the Army will release 30 acres, only around 20 acres had been released.
