2021 Budget of Jaffna municipal Council defeated second time. Arnold loses Mayor Post

The Budget – 2021 of the Jaffna Municipality, which is under the control of TNA, had been defeated by 3 votes. Consequently, Mayor Arnold has lost his Mayor Post.

The 2021 Budget proposals of Jaffna Municipal was submitted by Mayor, Emmanuel Arnold on the 2^nd. The proposals were defeated at that time with19 votes casted in support and 24 votes against it.

When the proposals were submitted for the second time yesterday, TNA-16, UNP – 3, TULF -1 and SLFP – 1 voted in support of the budget with TNPF- 13, EPDP – 10 and SLFP -1 voted against it.
