4 former LTTE members sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Bomb attack on Bus in 2008
4 former LTTE members who were accused of plotting and funding a bomb on a commuter bus at Polgolla in Kandy in 2008 in which 3 lost their lives, were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by Colombo High Court.
When the case was taken up for trial, yesterday, 2 accused appeared in the court and pleaded guilty. They were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. On submission by the AALs of the accused, Luxman Perera and Hasitha Vipulanayake that they are in prison for more than 10 years regarding the incident, the Judge ordered that the sentence be completed in 5 years.
4 had been accused in this case as 2 are not arrested so far the case east ken up only 2 accused present in the Court.
