6 external and 16 internal injuries on the dead youth’s body, may have drowned : Special JMO

The Special JMO who was testifying yesterday said that there were 6 external injuries and 16 internal injuries on the body of the youth who lost his life while being under the custody of the police. However he said that they not serious enough to cause death and there are evidence to show that he may have drowned.

Recording of testimonies of the crown witnesses in the case where a youth lost his life while being under the police custody took place before HC judge, Illancheliyan yesterday.

Testifying further the Special JMO the injuries may have been caused by blows delivered while standing in a bend position, while falling backwards, or while running. There is a possibility of death being caused by drowning and it cannot be said that there are no chances of death being caused by drowning.

Another witness said the suspect had escaped from custody at around noon on 2011.11.26 and was found dead by the searching policemen, dead, at around 3.00 p.m. Following the conclusion of prosecution witnesses the case was postponed to 4th April and  defense was ordered to hold their inquiry on that date.7 accused were remanded till then with an international warrant is pending against the other accused.
