6 Indians arrested with 13 ½ Kgs. of “Killer Drug” Heroine worth Rs. 810 Million off KKS shores

Kankesanthurai Navy men yesterday arrested 6 Indian nationals in a boat travelling from India and captured 13 ½ Kilos of Killer Drug  Heroine (Brown Sugar) with a street value of 810 Million Rupees in seas off the KKS coast.

On day before yesterday, Saturday mid-night, when the Navy personnel were on their routing patrol in the sea, they have noticed a small boat transgressing into Sri Lankan waters. When this boat crossed into KKS waters, they intercepted it and searched it.They found and captured 13 ½ Kilos of pure Heroine hidden in a blue barrel. Following the detection the 6 Indians on the boat were arrested by them.

One kilo of adulterated Heroine fetches some 1 Million rupees in Sri Lanka. The pure Heroine smuggled from India fetches around 6 Million per kilo and hence the Saturday’s capture is 810 Million, the Navy said.

The Navy said that the Captured Boat, Heroine and the arrested people will be handed over  to the KKS police.
