Vadduvagal Bridge on A-35 in a dangerous situation

The Vadduvagal Bridge on A-35 road has been damaged in several places and is in a dangerous situation. The longest bridge on the way to Mulaitheevu town remains in a state of disrepair to date.

It had been temporarily repaired after the damages caused by Tsunami in 2004 and later by war. The safety columns have been completely  damaged and several cracks and breakages had appeared elsewhere.

Although  temporary repairs had been undertaken in already damaged places, new damages have appeared in the bridge.

It is notable that accidents have occurred on the bridge and a life also lost in one of them.
