Vadduvagal sand bar opened

In a context where the Vadduvagal river being filled up, the opening of the sand bar was inaugurated by Government Agent K.Vimalanathan  after performing the traditional offerings to deities. Vaduvagal Bridge which is the access to Mulaitheevu town was brimming with flood waters. As this will hinder the travelling and transport, it was decided yesterday that sand bar should be cut open the flood water into sea.

Following performance of traditional poojas offered before opening, the District GA, K. Wimalanathan inaugurated the opening. The sand bar was then cut open with a Backhoe sponsored  by the Avlon Establishment.
