168 private houses or buildings with 48 acre land under control of Army, Navy and Police

Although six years have passed after the end of the war, 168 houses or buildings which belong to private people . 48 acre of lands around these properties were also in possession of the forces in Jaffna district.

23 houses/buildings including  04 houses in Velanai, 07 houses in Jaffna, 01 in Nallur,05 in Sandilipay,  and 06 in Point Pedro  on a  total 5.38 acre of lands are occupied by the Army.

88 houses/buildings  including  01 in Velanai, 12 in Point Pedro, 06 in Jaffna, 16 in Sandilipay , 01 each in Chankanai  and Uduvil Divisional Secretary areas, 02 in Thellipalai, 11 each in Kopay and Chavakachcheri , 05 in Karaveddi, and 22 in Point Pedro on a total 11.6 acre are occupied by Police;

and 57 houses/buildings  including  06 in Neduntheevu, 18 in Velanai, 19 in Kayts, 13 in Jaffna, 01 each in Nallur, Chankanai and Uduvil, 26 in Sandalipay, 21 in Thellipalai , 11 each in Chavakachcheri and Kopay, 05 in Karaveddy, 29 in Point Pedro, and 06 in Maruthankerny  on a total 29.53 acre by Navy.

All these figures indicate results of surveys carried out Divisional secretary’s area wise outside the HSZ after the new government came into power.
