Parliamentary Election on Aug 22nd?

Government circles said that the President have decided to hold the next Parliamentary elections on August  22^nd(Saturday) this year. While speculations were rife that the Parliament may be dissolved any time, Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne had said that, the Parliament will be dissolved only after adopting 20^th amendment.

In view of the G.C.E.(A.L) , it has been decided to hold the election on August 22^nd ,Saturday and to hold the first sitting of the New parliament in the first week of September, it is learned from Government  circles.

But no reliable information is available as to when the parliament will be dissolved.
