An ‘Asoka ‘ born in the mind of Jaffna High Court Judge, Illancheliyan

After passing death sentence on 3 accused in two cases, The High Court Judge,  M.Illancheliyan said that he personally don’t like death sentences and that he will be requesting the President to revoke imposing death sentence.

Death sentence is inimical to the society. It will give us no benefits. It should be commuted to life sentence or any other sentence, he said.

He was commenting after passing death sentences on 3 accused  in two cases.
