Vavuniya Citizen Committee President released after 4 hours of ‘closed room’ interrogation from TID
The President of the Vavuniya Citizen Committee, and the Society for finding missing people of Vavuniya district, Krishnapillai Thevarasa (Aged 61 ) was released yesterday from the 2nd office of the TID, after a 4 hours “ closed room” interrogation by 3 officers.
Earlier, last Week, officers of the Vavuniya TIDhad gone to his shop in Nedunkerny and issued him with a summons to meet an officer ‘Wimalasooriya’, in the 2nd floor of the TID on 15th Wednesday at 10.00hrs.
Although, Thevarasa presented himself with accompanied by 2 Attorneys at law, the TID officers had send off the attorneys and took only Thevarasa in to a closed room in the 2nd floor of the CID office.
3 officers had interrogated him for 4 hours regarding some information received on events of the pre-final war period. Eventually he was released at around 1430 hrs. , it is reported.
