Investigations into complaint of coup commences

Police investigations have commenced into the complaints of coup to sabotage election results and create disharmony, reports say.

Earlier, Minister Mangala Samaraweera had made a complaint to the CID that there had allegedly been a coup undertaken to restrain the counting and the announcement of results to prevent a regime change. The attempt was made when it came to light that UPFA presidential candidate Rajapakse was going to lose.
