Fr. Emmanuel, as the coordinator for Negotiations regarding Political Solution

Colombo sources said yesterday that, President of the Global Tamil Forum, Rev.Fr. Emmanuel  is to be invited by GOSL to act as the coordinator of Negotiations regarding Political Solution, the Government expect to hold  with the Tamil National Alliance.

Fr. Emmanuel , who was  displaced from Sri Lanka and staying in UK, was banned by  from coming to Sri Lanka by the former government. In the context of this ban being lifted by the present Government he is making arrangements to return to the Island in early January.

In the attempt of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, to solve the ethnic problem through all-religious dignitaries, using the South African style reconciliation exercise, Fr. Emmanuel is expected to play a major role, and hence his arrival is eagerly anticipated by the Government, the sources said.
