North to help the people of Chennai. NPC will undertake collection of funds soon

The NPC is to undertake collection funds to help the Chennai People, who are hit by a natural disaster. Minister Deneeswaran said this was discussed in the cabinet meeting headed by CM, C.V.Wigneswaran.

A meeting on helping the affected people was held on Friday at the CM’s Secretariat. During this meeting, the ways and means of helping the affected people were discussed. The CM informed there that he had discussed this matter with the Indian Deputy Counselor, A.Nadarajan. The Deputy Counselor had requested time till Monday to consult with the Indian Ambassador on what things are needed.

It was pointed out in cabinet meeting that, it will not be effective to take things from here and instead things could be purchased in other areas unaffected by floods.

In accordance with this, the collection of funds will commence soon, Minister Deneeswaran said.
