150 Sinhala students attack Tamil students of Uva- Wellassa University:8 injured

Tamils students in the 2^nd, 3^rd, and final years were attacked by around 150 Sinhala students. As a result of this attack 04 of the 2^nd year students, 2 of the 3^rd  and 1 of the final years were injured in this attack and were admitted to Badulla District Hospital. Disputes were prevailing between Tamil and Sinhala students  in the past and the Sinhala students had Tamil Students from entering the University canteen.

Observers say that the failure of the Government to punish offenders, when a similar incident occurred in Trincomalee Campus had encouraged this attack. It was also rported that a young southern politician is behind this attack.
