Lands of Tamil people disseised in Kokkilai to put up building for Mahaweli Authority

Secret action are being taken to put up a permanent building in Kokkilai in the lands disseised from Tamil people and extend the building premises up to the lands at Murrippu Kulam where the Tamil people who lost their lands to Mahaweli Authority had been given alternate lands.

The people of Manalaru and Kokkilai areas were displaced from these areas due to war and Sinhala people were issued their land and even deeds had been given. The Tamil people, who were original settlers were exerting pressure for the release of their lands and the Mahaweli Authority agreed to provide alternate lands at Murrippukulam, but it had now been revealed that this agreement is with a hidden motive of extending the land up to to Murrippukulam, under the control of the Authority.
