Buddhist Monks and the racist ‘Singa Le’ operatives threaten demonstrators in front of police

When the families of missing persons were going to hand over their memorandum to the Government Agent , Buddhist Monk and operatives of the racist Singa Le organization alighted on the spot and started abusing and threatening the Demonstrator and tried to attack them right in front of the police.

First the demonstration was started at around 10.30a.m. in front of the DIG’s Office in Amparai and then they were proceeding to wards the Kacheri , when this incident occurred. The Buddhist monks were shouting at the top of their voices and tried to assault the demonstrators.

However the demonstrators were able to hand over their memorandum and disperse safely with the protection of the police.Some of the attackers were seen wearing T-shirts with ‘Singa Le’ markings.
