CID mulling Mannar Mass grave case
The CID had rejected the foreign firms recommended by the Attorneys at law for affected persons to analyze the remains found at the mass grave site at Thiruketheeswaram, Mannar.
Instead, the CID had suggested that task could be done at the firm located in Florida, America and asked for permission of the court to perform analysis at this firm.
However the Attorneys at law for affected persons objected to this firm, stating that this is the firm which declared the human remains found at Matara as animal remains. They also insisted that one of the firms recommended by them be selected.
The cases regarding the mass grave and the suspected mass grave-well were taken up before Justice A.G.Alexrajah yesterday.
Both cases were postponed to August 1st as the Judicial Medical Officer also requested time complete the approval procedure for the excavation of the suspect well.
